More Birds
Many people love attracting hummingbirds to their gardens, but some common mistakes can unintentionally harm these delicate creatures. The image above serves as a reminder that even seemingly innocuous actions, such as feeding feeders near windows, allowing feeders to develop mold, or using red dye in nectar, can be fatal. Hummingbirds only eat food that is clean and safe, so anything artificial or tainted is a serious threat. To protect them, always use a 4:1 water-to-sugar ratio (no dye), clean feeders weekly, and place them away from hazards like glass. By being mindful, we can enjoy the beauty of hummingbirds while ensuring their safety and survival in our gardens.
